First, I just want to say that I have missed writing reviews for The Nerdy Bookworm these past few months, and while it may not seem that I have read much, trust me I have. Just not anything ya’ll would like to read reviews of, such as textbooks on Art, Biology, Sociology, well you get the idea!
By now, it is not a secret that Elizabeth Camden is my favorite current fiction of author. I love her novels, and I cannot recommend them enough. They have a wonderful balance of adventure, suspense, romance, and history that makes for a captivating read.
And Until the Dawn did not disappoint!
Until the Dawn is the story of Sophie van Riijn, a volunteer for the Weather Bureau, and her stormy relationship with Quentin Vandermark, a wealthy and aloof landowner. Through a series of ups and downs, the pair go on a fascinating journey as they trace down the unique history of Quentin’s property, in an attempt to rescue it from destruction at the hands of his grandfather. Will Sophie be able to save her weather station? And will they figure out the strange history of the Vandermark curse before it is too late?
I would give Until the Dawn an “A”. But I do recommend reading the free companion novella, Toward the Sunrise before reading Until the Dawn.
