Review of “Songs of a Suffering King”

Songs of a Suffering King by J.V. Fesko is a uniquely helpful look at Psalms 1-8. By digging down and connecting dots between the book of Psalms and the New Testament, Fesko reminds us over and over again that all of Scripture points us to Christ.

By concentrating on one Psalm in each chapter, and ending each chapter with a conclusion, questions for the reader, and a metrical version of the Psalm being considered, Songs of a Suffering King would be ideal beginning for a reader desiring to become more acquainted with the book of Psalms.

While small and easy to understand, Songs of a Suffering King is a deep and immensely worthwhile read. I would give the book a “B+”.
